高田美苗個展「オラトリー」

2024年から新しくレプハド（メタルエンボッシング）を作品に取り入れています。このことで、ある程度、自分の目指す表現に到達したと考えています。
混合技法（古典技法）とレプハドによる表現を合わせることで、私の目指す表現の完成形に近いものになりました。
このような表現のルーツになったのは、大学生の頃に初めて行ったヨーロッパ旅行だと思います。
美術館というスポットライトのあたる場所ではなく、教会という本来在るべき場所に置かれた宗教画は、生の西洋美術を強烈に感じさせてくれました。薄暗い聖堂の中でこそ、その存在感を感じさせてくれるものでした。
私は、混合技法（古典技法）を用いて、主に少女と幻想世界をモチーフに制作しています。作品に登場する少女は、自分自身がなれなかった少女です。少女を作品にすることで、自分の少女時代を弔い、昇華している気がしています。
宗教的な題材を借りる形で、これらを表現しています。

Since 2024, I have been incorporating "repujado" (metal embossing)
into my work. I believe that by doing so, I have, to a certain extent,
reached the expression I was aiming for.
By combining the mixed technique (classical technique) with the repujado expression, I have come close to achieving the completed form of the expression I am aiming for.
I believe the roots of this type of expression lie in my first trip to Europe when I was a university student.
The religious paintings, placed where they belong - in a church rather than in the spotlighted place such as a museum - gave me a powerful sense of raw Western art. Their presence was felt most strongly in the dimly lit cathedral.
I use the mixed technique (classical technique) to create works mainly featuring girls and fantasy worlds. The girls that appear in my works are the girls I myself never became. By creating girls in my works, I feel like I am mourning and sublimating my own girlhood.
I express these things by borrowing religious themes.
